Rest In Awesome

Yesterday a very amazing seventeen year old boy by the name of Michael Mason met his final resting place. Mason was loved by many. He was the only person who could say your name and make you beam from ear to ear. I've known Mike for over thirteen years now and will always cherish those days. Just days before his death I spoke to him for the first time in months and he again made me smile when my name came from his lips. Mason was different the many other guys. When you said 'hi' to him his mind and attention was on you and you alone until you were done talking and he could talk to you for hours. Mike Mason praised everyone, the athletes, the artists, the intelligent and the care free. Mason was a musician and his original songs would fill the main entrance of BHS every morning by either his guitar or a piano. As well as being a musician Mike was an athlete, and was a member of our very own football team. Today BHS Bengal Marching Band's drum line is paying a tribute to Michael Mason. Our two snare drums are dressed the number 30, Mike's jersey number, and a tribute banner hangs from our single quints. As well as the drum line giving our fellow musician a tribute the football team will run onto that away field with Mike in the hearts and his number displayed on their helmets. Yesterday the entire school wept as Michael Mason procession went past our high school bringing Michael to his resting place. That day started out as a bright shining day just like Mason was and immediately started pouring after we all knew he was gone forever. We love you Mason. Rest in Awesome like the way you lived it.
